When we met Mr. Kahilua, he looked devasted. ''Oh officers, please help me! That book had been had been in my family for three generations! I can't afford to lose such a precious heirloom.'' he wailed. ''Calm down, Mr. Kahilua. Now, tell us what happened exactly.'' I said. ''I had given the book to my son, Fred because he wanted to read it. We both were sitting in the living room by the fire. He was reading the book and I was reading the newspaper. Suddenly, the milkman rang the doorbell and I got up to open the door. When I came back, the book wasn't there! There was a bookmark and my newspaper lying on the table but the book was missing!''
